What is true leadership?
At Westminster College, students engage mightily with this question from freshman year through graduation and beyond.
Feb. 23-24, the Fourth Cherry-Price Visiting Leaders Series will bring accomplished alumni to campus as tangible examples of what leadership looks like in boardrooms, federal agencies, museums and global companies.
Conducted twice each year, the series connects students with graduates who have built careers in business, public service, the arts and beyond. The goal is simple: honest conversations about what it takes to build a meaningful career and life after Westminster.
“Leadership isn’t just an empty word, just as ‘leader’ isn’t just a title,” said Dr. Derek Glasgow, coordinator of the Cherry-Price Visiting Leaders Series. “Leadership is the ability to solve problems, build trust and serve others. Through this Series, students hear directly from alumni who are doing that work every day, making the concept tangible.”
Throughout the two-day event, visiting leaders will host open forums and meet informally with students as well as faculty and staff. The setting is intentionally relaxed so that individuals can ask questions about setbacks, career pivots and lessons learned along the way.
