Hollrah’s Hat Trick Aids In Blue Jay’s 8-0 Shutout Over MacMurray

Westminster’s junior Connor Hollrah performed his first career hat trick to aid the Blue Jays in the 8-0 shutout over MacMurray College Saturday evening. The Blue Jays continue their St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference streak to a perfect 3-0 and their overall record to 4-7-1.

The Blue Jays scored all 8 goals in the first half. Senior Zach Moore scored the first goal, later becoming the game-winning goal, off an assist from Hollrah. Junior Muzi Shongwe tried for the hat trick with three shots on goal, but was able to only score two goals. Sophomore Samuel Lopez scored off a penalty kick and senior Ty Cook scored off an assist from freshman Tripp Sheehan in the 36th minute.

Goalkeepers Raul Belman Romero and John Davis shared the shutout.

The Blue Jays meet Fontbonne University Tuesday, October 15 at 5:00 p.m on the Westminster Field. Fontbonne is also currently 3-0 in the SLIAC.
