Westminster College: News and Notes from the nest

The Westminster women’s soccer team ended their trip in Iowa with a 3-0 loss to Central College. The loss puts the Blue Jays’ record to 3-4 heading into conference play.

Central scored a goal in the 14th minute, taking a 1-0 lead. With 8 seconds left in the first half, freshman Honor Kehde took a shot, but it went wide.

Central scored again in the 68th minute and the 85th minute to take the 3-0 lead.

Juniors Grace Sanford and Katie Koonce each had a shot on goal in the second half, but they could not get past Central’s goalie.

The Blue Jays were outshot 24-4 during the game. Sophomore goalkeeper Ellen Woolsey (3-4-0) finished the 90 minutes with 8 saves.

The Blue Jays hit the field again on Saturday, September 27, as they host Blackburn College for their first conference game. First touch is at 5:00 p.m.
