Women’s Basketball Helps Fulton MS and MSD With Practice

The Westminster women’s basketball team, in the height of finals week, visited two local schools to help out with practice. On Wednesday evening, part of the team went to Fulton Middle School, while the others went to Missouri School of the Deaf.

“It is important that we as a women’s basketball program set the standard of service and giving back to our community,” said Head Coach Tracey Braden.

Both school’s coaches are Westminster women’s basketball alumni. Whitney Toosley (’10), formerly Meurer, and Kenna Cornelson (’13) coach at Fulton Middle School and Talisha Washington (’13) coaches at Missouri School of the Deaf.

“We do focus a lot on our game but have also worked on serving others and becoming better people during our four years here,” said senior Leigh Ann Lutz.

Westminster’s finals started on Wednesday, December 11, and will span through Saturday.

The Westminster Blue Jays will continue their season with a conference game in Elsah, Illinois this Saturday. They will take on Principia College at 2:00 p.m.
