Men’s Soccer Falls To The University of the Ozarks, 2-1

The Westminster men’s soccer team was unable to come back from a 2-0 first half deficit against the University of the Ozarks on Saturday afternoon, falling 2-1. The loss brings their overall record to 1-2.

The Ozarks scored their two goals just two minutes apart in the first half. Sophomore Josh Jaycox took the only shot on goal for the Blue Jays in the first half.

Freshman Dustin Seibolt scored with a header off an assist by sophomore Tripp Sheehan in the 72nd minute to cut the Ozarks’ lead to 2-1.

The Blue Jays had nine shots total, but could not find the back of the net again.

Sophomore goalkeeper Raul Belman Romero (1-2-0) faced five shots, but allowed the two goals.

The Blue Jays see the field again on Tuesday, September 9, when they take on Columbia College in Columbia, Missouri at 7:00 p.m.
