Koestner Finishes 3rd In Gary Stoner XC Invitational, Men’s Place 2nd

The Westminster men’s and women’s cross country team participated in Central Methodist University’s Gary Stoner Cross Country Invitational Saturday in Fayette, Missouri. The men’s team ran the 8K with an average time of 28:35.54, finishing in 2nd/6. The women’s team ran the 5K with an average time of 20:50.20 and finished in 4th/5. Westminster’s senior Sarah Koestner finished in 3rd with a 19:17.80 time.

The Blue Jay men’s team had two place in the top 10. Senior Matt Borst crossed the line first for the Blue Jays, placing 8th with a 27:09.94 time. Sophomore Jesse Edwards followed Borst with a 27:40.13 time and placed 9th. Freshman Connor Greene finished in 11th for the Blue Jays (28:36.96). Following Greene was: Will Megl (15th /28:55.52), Nathan Fox (21st /30:45.13), Ryan Dyer (29th /33:23.07), Jacob Burch (31st /34:43.85) and Spencer Woodford (37:53.01).

The Blue Jay women’s team four in the top 20. Following Koestner across the finish line was senior Sarah Ogar, taking 14th with a 20:41.97 time.  Sophomore Brier Skogsberg and freshman Lily Willis finished in 18th (20:54.57) and 19th (21:08.70) place, respectively. Following Willis was: Tiara Pettijohn (25th /22:07.96), Rachel Bade (26th /22:11.29) and Claire Gibby (29th /22:56.91).

The Blue Jays take next weekend off in preparation for the St. Louis College of Pharmacy Invitational on Saturday, October 26.
