Blue Jays Basketball Academy To Be Offered for Grades 2-8 in June

A Blue Jays Basketball Academy will be offered in early June to help young basketball players develop their skills. The three half-days camp will focus on the fundamentals.

Who: Open to boys and girls entering 2nd through 8th grade (participants will be split into groups by age)

When: Monday, June 8 to Wednesday, June 10 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon (gym will be open by 8 a.m. for drop off and until 1 p.m. for pick-up)

Where: St. Peter School Gymnasium (700 State Highway Z) in Fulton

Cost: $30 pre-register, $40 day of

The academy will be led by Andrew Green, Camp Director, and Verdis Lee Jr., Assistant Camp Director.

Green is the Assistant Basketball Coach at Westminster and also serves at the P.E. teacher at St. Peter’s Catholic School.

A 2015 graduate of Westminster, Lee is a four-year starter on the Westminster Blue Jays basketball team. Lee is a three-time St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) all-conference honoree, plus a two-time SLIAC player of the week. In his career at Westminster, he scored more than 1,200 career points and led the team in rebounds, blocks, and assists.
