Alum’s Low-Cost Pharmacy Startup Raises $6.6 Million in Investments

Through his company Mutti mPharma, a venture-backed startup and pharmacy benefits manager based in Ghana, Gregory Rockson ’12 and his team of medical professionals, project managers, and programmers make prescription drugs in emerging markets more accessible and affordable. As reported by Quartz, mPharma is receiving strong support from Silicon Valley investors, raising $6.6 million from international investors in its recent Series A funding round.

In a 2016 interview with Westminster, Rockson said, “We want to become the largest dispenser of chronic drugs for patients in Africa. We will accomplish this by offering the lowest drug prices and health benefit plans for patients across the continent.”
