Men’s Soccer Downs Earlham 4-1

Schaumburg, Ill.- The Westminster Blue Jays grabbed their first season win Saturday afternoon as they defeated Earlham College 4-1.

The Blue Jays were scoreless in the first half, and Earlham hit their only shot of the game into the back of the net during the first half.

The Blue Jays scored their four goals in the second half, all with assists. Junior Muzi Shongwe scored his first goal of the season off an assist from junior Connor Hallrah to tie the game at 1-1.  Freshman Drew Cook assisted the next two goals by junior Jacob Appelbaum and freshman Keagan Cavanah. To seal the deal, senior Ty Cook scored a goal off a pass from senior Michael McDonough.

Freshman goalkeeper Raul Belman Romero was credited with the win.

The Blue Jays will stop in Decatur, Illinois Sunday to play Millikin University at 2:30 p.m. You can watch the game live here.
