Women’s Soccer Loses Battle To Greenville 0-1

The Westminster women’s soccer team was shutout 1-0 by the Greenville Panthers Saturday afternoon. The loss moves the Westminster Blue Jays’ overall record to 5-11-1 and their St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) record to 3-4.

The Blue Jays allowed the Panthers to score in the 5th minute of the game, but held them from scoring again. Tayisah Pohtos (Ousley) was the only Blue Jay that was able to get a shot off in the 90 minutes of play.

Freshman goalkeeper Ellen Woolsey racked up five saves throughout the game.

Saturday’s game served as the soccer season’s last home game, so the Blue Jays honored the four seniors: Cassie Rossman, Erin Slay, Katie Seyer and Beau Reiske. Each senior has put in four years on the field for the Westminster soccer program.

The Blue Jays will travel to Webster Groves, Missouri on Tuesday to face Webster University at 7:00 p.m.
