Westminster Waves Interview: Sara Hart Weir, National Advocate on Behalf of People with Down Syndrome

Westminster Waves had the privilege of catching up with one of the keynote speakers at this year’s President’s Summer Alumni Retreat, Sara Hart Weir ’04 (Kappa Kappa Gamma) from Washington, D.C.  Sara is the President of the National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS), the leading human rights organization for all individuals with Down syndrome.

NDSS provides state-of-the-art, comprehensive programming to all individuals with Down syndrome and their families with four main areas of programming which include: the National Advocacy & Policy Center, the National Buddy Walk® Program, Community Outreach and Resources and Public Awareness.

In this segment, Sara discusses how she first became interested in this issue at Westminster and her work, lobbying and advocating on behalf of people with Down syndrome.
