Pohtos Scores Two In Shutout Win Over Ozarks

Junior Tayisah Pohtos scored both goals in the Westminster women’s soccer team 2-0 shutout over the University of the Ozarks Saturday afternoon. The Westminster Blue Jays are now 1-1 on the season.
After a scoreless first half, freshman Payton Beeler placed a great pass to Pohtos who finished with a goal in the 48th minute to take a 1-0 lead.
Pohtos ripped the ball past the keeper in the 76th minute to score again off an assist from freshman Honor Kehde.
Sophomore goalkeeper Ellen Woolsey (1-1) was credited with her first shutout of the season, recording three saves.
The Blue Jays hit the field again tomorrow at William Woods University at 3:00 p.m.
