Lee Jr. Named SLIAC Player of the Week
The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced their Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for January 27 and Westminster’s junior Verdis Lee Jr. was selected.
Lee Jr., a guard from Fulton, Mo., averaged nearly 30 points in three games last week, helping his team to a pair of wins. Lee tallied 24 points and six rebounds against Spalding to start the week, but he was just getting started. Lee had a hot hand in his next game, a win over Principia, when he poured in 32 points on 13-of-16 shooting. Lee wrapped up the week with 25 points in a win over Eureka, also recording seven rebounds, three assists and four blocks in the game. On the week Lee averaged 27.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.0 blocks per game.
Lee Jr. and the Blue Jays will see the court again this Saturday, February 1, at Blackburn College.
