Kappa Alpha Chapter Wins Multiple Awards

The Alpha Eta Chapter of the Kappa Alpha Order at Westminster College won multiple prestigious awards at its Province Council meeting Feb. 10-11 in Memphis, TN.  Alpha Eta’s Province and three others met for officer training and presentation of national KA Awards.

Awards won by Alpha Eta included:

Samuel Zenas Ammen Award for Chapter Excellence—The award is for overall chapter excellence in all areas and given to only 10% of all KA chapters;

Academic Achievement Award—This award is given to a chapter who achieves an overall 3.0 grade point average in one or both semesters of a school year;

Project Outreach—The award was given to Alpha Eta because of their outstanding dollars raised by each individual man this past year (over $100 per man);

Excellence in Chapter Finances—This award is given to those who make and execute an effective chapter budget with accounts receivable of under 2%;

Excellence in Fraternal Communications—This award was given to Alpha Eta for its excellence in communicating their news to their alumni members and its strong social media presence throughout the year; and

Scholastic Excellence Award—This award was given to Alpha Eta for achieving a better than 3.25 chapter grade point average during one or both semesters of the school year.

“The Alpha Eta Chapter is very excited to have earned these recognitions from our national KA office and we would like to thank Westminster College and all of our outstanding alumni who both help make these achievements possible year after year,” says KA President Samuel Vogel.

The Alpha Eta chapter was established on the Westminster campus in 1890. The Kappa Alpha Order originated in 1865 at Washington College in Lexington, VA.
