6 Hours from Home: Westminster Mom on Her Son’s College Experience

Nervous about sending your student away to college next year? Westminster mom Jennifer Moore from Muskogee, OK understands.

“It was terrible for me as a mother,” she says, looking back on the experience of having her son Lake at Westminster, six hours from home. “But he just thrived in the small school environment and loved it.”

This holiday season, Jennifer welcomes Lake home as a senior ready to finish his final semester of college at Westminster. The Moores will spend time over the break looking for an apartment for Lake in Norman, OK where he’ll live next fall, attending the University of Oklahoma College of Law.

“I think this year is the first year I haven’t cried every time he’s left home,” she says. “I’m getting used to him growing up.”
