Westminster to Honor Golden Anniversary Class of 1966 During Alumni Weekend 2016

A lot has changed in the 50 years since Westminster’s Class of 1966 attended their last classes on the Fulton campus. On a national and international scale, there was the United States’ growing involvement in the Vietnam War. Beatle mania was in full swing. Busch Memorial Stadium opened in St. Louis for the first time.

It was a big year on Westminster’s campus, too. The Class of 1966 saw the opening and inauguration of Champ Auditorium, along with a celebration concert to mark the occasion featuring the Kansas City Philharmonic. Xerox Corp. President John C. Wilson delivered a Green Lecture. Actor, businessman and decorated World War II naval officer Douglas Fairbanks, Jr. was the commencement speaker.

What do you remember most from your time in Fulton? Alumni Weekend 2016 (April 21 – 24) marks the golden anniversary of the Class of 1966 and offers the perfect opportunity to reconnect and reminisce with good friends.

Catch up with fellow alumni at the Old Guard Luncheon and the Golden Anniversary Dinner on Friday, April 22. A special reception honoring the Class of 1966 (along with the Class of 1991 and the Class of 2006) will be held on Saturday evening.
