War Memorial Sculpture: What Civil War and World War I Commemorative Sculptures Can Reveal About Gender, Race, and Art, 11 a.m. March 21, 2022, at Hermann Lounge in Hunter Activity Center. Dr. Kelly Lankford, history professor at Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts, will give the presentation, which will be followed by a catered luncheon. This event is sponsored by the Center for Faith & Service in collaboration with the History department and Museum Club.

Inaugural Brauer Lecture Titled “The Pursuit of Happiness and True Success” Featuring Social Scientist and Bestselling Author Dr. Arthur Brooks, 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, in the Church of St. Mary the Virgin, Aldermanbury. Brooks served as the head of the American Enterprise Institute, one of the world’s top think tanks in Washington, DC, for a decade before accepting a position in 2019 as the Arthur C. Patterson Faculty Fellow at Harvard Business School in Cambridge, MA. A frequent contributor to The Atlantic, The Washington Post, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal, Brooks is also known widely for his 2019 Netflix documentary The Pursuit. The Brauer Lecture Series is made possible by a generous gift from Stephen F., ’67 ΦΔΘ, and Camilla T. Brauer of St. Louis, MO.

King’s Row – Third Edition Book-Signing Event with Author Dr. Rachael Price, Associate Professor of English at Abraham Baldwin College in Tifton, GA, 12 p.m., April 26, 2022, Westminster Bookstore. Published in 1940, King’s Row was a national bestseller by Henry Bellamann, who was originally from Fulton, MO, and briefly attended Westminster College. A movie by the same name and based on the book starred former President Ronald Reagan as a young actor. In 1982, a second edition of the book was republished with a forward by Jay Miles Karr, Professor Emeritus of English.
