Westminster College Announces 2024 Blue Jays Hall of Fame Honorees

Westminster College is pleased to announce all those who will be inducted into the prestigious 2024 Blue Jays Hall of Fame! Inductees will be honored during a celebratory dinner at 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 20.

“The Westminster College Athletic Hall of Fame ceremony is one of the most anticipated events we have the opportunity to host each year,” said Derek Zander, Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics, Athletics Advancement, and Strategic Programs. “It’s always exciting to recognize some of the greatest to ever wear a Westminster uniform. Continuing to add to our talented and robust Athletic Hall of Fame is a great honor, and the Hall of Fame committee and I are looking forward to another great ceremony as part of a terrific homecoming weekend.”

Kenna Cornelson ’13
Kenna Cornelson was a standout player on Westminster’s women’s basketball team from 2009 to 2013. She earned recognition as a two-time SLIAC all-conference member and was a key contributor to the Blue Jays’ back-to-back championships. Cornelson ranks third in program history for assists in a season and second for total assists in a game. She also made the SLIAC Academic All-Conference Team and the SLIAC All-Defensive Team during her senior year. After graduating with a degree in biology and a minor in leadership, Cornelson pursued a doctorate in physical therapy. She now owns Cornelson Physical Therapy in Oklahoma City, specializing in pelvic health. Cornelson lives in Oklahoma City with her husband, Jimmy Ewald, and their four children, with a fifth child on the way.

Deion Hughes ’16
Deion Hughes stands out in baseball for his rare dual role as a starting player both on the field and in the pitching rotation. A four-time all-conference player, Hughes earned first-team honors in his sophomore, junior, and senior years, with additional academic accolades in his final three seasons. His sophomore year saw him named to the ABCA All-America Second Team, while his senior year was marked by being named SLIAC Player of the Year and an ABCA All-America First Team selection. That year, he also led Westminster to its first conference tournament title since 1999 and secured the College’s third NCAA tournament berth. Hughes dominates the Blue Jays’ statistical charts, holding records for single-season wins, career wins, career strikeouts, complete games, and shutouts. After graduating with a degree in information technology, Hughes joined the Missouri State Highway Patrol as a computer information specialist. He currently lives in Jefferson City with his wife, Rachel, who is expecting their first child.

Heather (Letourneau) Millard ’12
Heather (Letourneau) Millard was a standout player for Westminster’s women’s basketball team from 2009 to 2012. Known for her defensive skills, she was named to the SLIAC All-Defensive Team three times and holds the program record for most career steals. Millard played a key role in leading the Blue Jays to two conference championships and an NCAA National Tournament appearance. Her consistent performance earned her spots on the SLIAC Academic All-Conference Team throughout her college career, along with all-conference honorable mentions. After graduating with degrees in business administration and history, Millard became a ninth-grade social studies teacher in the Lincoln County RIII School District. She lives in Troy, Missouri, with her husband, Ky, and their three children, Liam, Eva, and Nora, continuing her commitment to education and athletics.

Ky Millard ’11
Ky Millard played a crucial role in Westminster’s men’s basketball success, leading the team to back-to-back regular season championships as captain in his junior and senior years. Under his leadership, the Blue Jays won their first championship since 1995, and Millard earned Most Valuable Player status. He ranks second in Westminster history for assists in a game and was recognized as Male Athlete of the Year in 2009-2010. Millard was also a three-year captain and a key player in minutes played and rebounds. After graduating in 2011 with a degree in business administration, he continued his involvement in basketball through coaching and mentoring. Today, Millard is a high school math teacher and assistant basketball coach at Troy Buchanan High School in Troy, Missouri, where he lives with his wife, Heather, and their three children, Liam, Eva, and Nora.

Scott Posey ’74
Scott Posey is a remarkable figure whose influence on the athletic community extends beyond his many personal achievements. As a coach, mentor, and administrator, he has impacted many, teaching values like academics, teamwork, and perseverance. Posey set a record by scoring 56 points in a single game and holds the all-time record for most points in a season and most free throws made. He earned numerous accolades in both baseball and basketball, including selections to several All-District and All-Conference teams. After graduating from Westminster College in 1974 with a degree in physical education, Posey pursued further education, earning two master’s degrees. His 35-year career in teaching, coaching, and administration at both the high school and college levels left a lasting legacy. Even after retiring, Posey continued to coach at Lindenwood University-Belleville. He has also played organized baseball for 59 consecutive years, winning five national championships in the Men’s Senior Baseball League. Posey and his wife, Stephanie, remain active in the baseball community, embodying a lifelong commitment to the sport.

Jacob Vislay ’11
Jacob Vislay left a lasting mark on Westminster’s basketball program by scoring 1,219 career points and ranking 12th all time. He played a pivotal role in helping the Blue Jays win the SLIAC championship twice and finish first in the conference for three consecutive years. Vislay earned first-team all-conference honors twice and was named Male Athlete of the Year in 2010-2011. He was also a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society. After graduating with a degree in business administration, Vislay transitioned from a career in loan origination to law enforcement. He currently serves as a corporal in the Missouri State Highway Patrol, where he oversees operations in Osage and Gasconade counties. Vislay and his wife, Chelsea, are eagerly awaiting the birth of their first child in February 2025.
