Westminster Alums Make a Difference: Dorsey Jackson ’65

Dorsey Jackson has made a gift to Westminster College every year since he graduated in 1965.

He says, “I give because I received an excellent education at Westminster and feel a sincere obligation to help others receive similar opportunities.” His favorite college memories center on fraternity life and the relationships he had with his professors.  He enjoyed meeting people from other parts of the country and learning about them. “I truly value my education and feel that the Westminster liberal arts curriculum helped me develop the lifelong skills of writing, communicating, and strategic thinking.”

In addition to being an almost 50-year donor, Jackson is a lifetime trustee of the Westminster College board of trustees and served as an active member from 1985 to 1997.  He and his wife, Lucy, have hosted Westminster events in Little Rock and the 2007 Blue Jay Road Trip.

Jackson attended graduate school at the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana and had a very successful career as a CPA and managing partner at the Little Rock, Arkansas office of the international accounting firm of KPMG.  A community leader, he served as president of the Little Rock School District and as chairman of the board of the Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
