Virtual Services Help Westminster Witness Increase in Freshman Deposits

High school students and their families are just a click away from an in-depth look at Westminster College. Through YouVisit, prospective students can check out everything from our Hogwarts-style dining hall to the new Student Success Center in Reeves Library to Fulton’s Brick District.

Kirstina Bright, Executive Director of Marketing and Communication, says YouVisit is essential today during the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic as well as for the future of the College.

“YouVisit is almost better than an on-site visit, because so much information can be included in a virtual tour,” Bright explains. “Plus if you’re in a hurry, the design allows you to jump from campus location to campus location quickly.”

Dr. Paul Orscheln, Vice President of Enrollment Services, says that a number of strategic initiatives are resulting in positive results on campus right now.

Through a combination of YouVisit, Virtual Town Hall meetings for incoming freshmen/transfer students, Virtual Student Advising and Registration (SOAR), a newly relaxed ACT/SAT requirement and a special video message from President Fletch Lamkin, Westminster freshman deposits are up 58 percent compared to last year.

“We’ve been working hard to meet the needs of incoming students and want them to know we are here for them,” Orscheln says.
