Volleyball Sweeps Robert Morris, 3-0

The Westminster volleyball team swept Robert Morris University-Springfield, 3-0, on Tuesday evening. The Westminster Blue Jays move to 2-6 after their home-opener win.

The Blue Jays won 25-21, 25-9 and 25-13.

As a team, the Blue Jays hit .304. Sophomore Amanda Kiso hit .625 with 6 kills, and freshman Kristen McMillian hit .571 with 5 kills. Sophomore Riley Lawrence put down 8 kills and finished with a .417 hitting percentage.

Sophomore setter Kayla Reeg finished the match with 31 assists, and freshman libero Kendall Johnson led the Blue Jays in digs with 13.

“It was a great night, and I was glad that everyone was able to contribute,” said Head Coach Curtis Madson. “I’m proud of how the girls came in off the bench, stepped up and helped secure the win.”

The Blue Jays start conference play on Saturday, September 13 at Greenville College. They face MacMurray College at 11:00 a.m. and Principia College at 1:00 p.m.
