Westminster Women’s Track Named USTFCCCA All-Academic Team

Westminster women’s track was named an All-Academic Team by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

The Blue Jays posted a grade point average of 3.47 this season and were one of 185 NCAA Division III women’s teams honored.

This recognition is a testament to the awesome student-athletes here at Westminster,” says Head Women’s Track Coach Joshua Villarreal.  “I’m extremely excited to get to work with these ladies as the school year gets started next month.  Having student-athletes of this caliber creates an amazing atmosphere and will be the exact type of people I’ll be recruiting going forward.”

All told, 291 teams were honored for their academics by the USTFCCCA.

The highest cumulative GPA of any team, men or women’s, belonged to Knox College’s women.

The Prairie Fire maintained a 3.80 GPA under head coach Randy Overby.
