Meet Westminster Student Sally Krebs ’20

Hometown: Florissant, MO

Major/minor: I am currently majoring in biology through our dual-degree nursing program and minoring in public health.

Future plans: My goal for the future is to be a pediatric nurse practitioner. I will begin my journey at Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes-Jewish College in St. Louis in the fall of 2020 and will hopefully then go on to get my doctorate as a nurse practitioner after that.

How Westminster is helping her find her purpose: Westminster is helping me find my purpose by challenging me to be the best version of myself. My professors are constantly pushing me to get out of my comfort zone and become the student I didn’t know I could be. And, of course, the friendships that I have made here on campus … I would not change for the world. Westminster has brought me new adventures that I would never be able to get anywhere else.

Favorite place on campus: Coulter Science Center. I spend a good portion of my days in that building and have kind of just fallen in love with the atmosphere of it. I’m kind of a nerd and love to learn, and this is the building that I have had the opportunity to grow most as a student in.

Favorite Westminster memory: Without a doubt, my favorite Westminster memory is going to Belize with Dr. Amspoker and other biology students the summer after my freshman year. Before we went on the trip, we took a seminar class where we learned everything we possibly could about the country. This made the experience so much more personal, because we could relate with what the locals were talking about and could have wonderful conversations with them. Going to Belize also really opened up my eyes to how beautiful our world is, and it has inspired me to want to travel even more. I definitely would recommend going to Belize if you have the chance.

What she does in her free time: In my free time, I really like reading books, learning how to do sutures with my suture kit, coloring, and hanging out with my friends and family.

A superpower she wishes she had: Instantaneous teleportation, so I could go wherever I want, when I want.
