Therapy Dog Visits Help Students Fight Finals Stress
Students battling end-of-semester stress found relief last week in the form of a furry friend. Milo, a therapy dog in training, visited the Reeves Library on May 2 to hang out with students and provide a break from studying for finals. He was accompanied by his trainer, Debbie.
Academic Library Fellow Chelsea Tuthill ’12, heard of the popularity of therapy dog events at other colleges and arranged the visit after a friend put her in touch with the dog therapy program in Columbia.
Students snuggled and played with Milo for an hour while enjoying lemonade, iced tea, and cookies in the circulation area of the library. Milo’s visit was covered by the Fulton Sun.
Another therapy dog visited campus on May 8, and a final visit will take place on Tuesday, May 9 from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Visit the Reeves Library’s Facebook page for more information.
