Scott Boswell To Receive Lifetime Alumni Achievement Award at Westminster College

Scott Boswell from Kansas City, MO, Class of 1986, will receive the Lifetime Alumni Achievement Award at a special Alumni Honors Convocation Ceremony to be held at 10:30 a.m., April 25, during Alumni Weekend in the Church of St. Mary, Aldermanbury on the Westminster College campus in Fulton, MO.

Boswell is President and Chief Executive Officer of The Commerce Trust Company’s West Region.

He has oversight of all Commerce Trust lines of business, including private client, private banking and institutional money management.  He also serves as Trust Company wide head of the Institutional Services and Corporate Trust business lines.

The Lifetime Alumni Achievement Award is presented annually to alumni whose accomplishments reflect the Westminster mission and who have distinguished themselves through personal achievements, professional achievements and/or have made significant contributions to society.

“Westminster has added to my life in so many areas,” says Boswell. “My liberal arts education helped me become a well-rounded business person, leader, volunteer, father and husband.  Westminster’s size and close knit community were integral in enhancing my leadership abilities.”

He has been a passionate supporter of Westminster.  He was a member of the Board of Trustees from 2000-2012.  He joined the Alumni Council in 1988 and served as President of the Council in 1999. He has also served as President of the Chicago, St.  Louis and Charlotte Alumni Clubs.

As a donor, Boswell has reached the prestigious Sentinels of the Columns level, has been a member of the President’s Club since its inception and is a member of the True Blue Society, a select group who has contributed every year since graduation.  He and his wife Robin have hosted numerous alumni events.

He is active in other philanthropic work as well.  He is currently President of the Boy Scouts of America, Heart of America Council, Chairman of the Board for the Kansas City Repertory Theatre and President of the Board of the Kansas City Chorale.  He also serves as a Director of St. Luke’s Healthcare System Foundation and is a Director of the American Royal.

During his years at Westminster, Boswell was a President of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity, a member of the academic honorary Omicron Delta Kappa, the Honor Commission and a Student Ambassador.

In addition to his Bachelor of Arts degree from Westminster, he holds a Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of Chicago and is a Certified Employee Benefits Specialist.

Westminster’s Alumni Weekend is the largest on-campus event for alumni and one of the favorite Westminster College traditions.  This year’s celebration April 24-26 will include past favorites such as the golf tournament, a Bill Parrish college history lecture and dueling pianos event as well as many new events such as the William W. Robertson Bust Dedication Ceremony, a Skulls of Seven Reunion and a celebration of the 35th anniversary of Women at Westminster.
