From Business Admin Major to Career: Nicki DiSalvo ’11

Nicki DiSalvo ’11 majored in business administration while at Westminster. She is now a system talent specialist for talent acquisition at BJC Healthcare in St. Louis. Since graduating, Nicki has done an excellent job of taking the things she learned in the classroom here at Westminster out into the business world.

While attending Westminster, Nicki took several courses in organizational leadership. According to Dr. Bob Hansen, Nicki was always active in class, a leader in discussions, and always had great questions to ask. Being the leader she was, Nicki used the knowledge she gained in the classroom to improve her leadership skills in many campus organizations she was a part of such as the Campus Activities Board.

“Nicki is a great example of how classroom learning can be immediately applied to a student’s college experience and later on in his or her career,” says Dr. Hansen.

Nicki, like so many other Westminster students, has an advantage when obtaining professional positions that require creative problem-solving, critical thinking, teamwork, and decision-making. These are the skills Westminster cultivates in its students, knowing that these are the same skills valued by employers.

“Westminster College gave me all the tools needed to be successful in my current role and beyond,” say Nicki. “I was able to not only learn about marketing principles in the classroom, but also put that knowledge to use.”

Westminster College would like to congratulate Nicki on her recent marriage to Brad Wester (pictured above with Nicki). Best wishes to the happy couple!
