What activities did you participate in while you were at Westminster?

I was a member of the Skulls of Seven and in Blue Blazers, Delta Omicron and Biology Club. I also played soccer and was a residential advisor.

What role did Westminster play in leading you to your current position/studies?

I believe that Westminster’s campus is a thriving environment for learning.  I can say that in all the classes I was able to participate in, each professor addressed us as though ‘learning’ was the primary goal. I have been in other scenarios where it feels like the teachers are just trying to get through an agenda, mark x-y-z off on the list of accomplishments, regardless of retention or understanding of the people in the classroom.  The difference in having an engaging education is tremendous.

I have hoped to replicate this principle in my practice. I hope our patients know that I am there to help them improve their health, that I am excited to serve everyday, and I am focused on rejuvenating their quality of life rather than just trying to cross something off of an agenda.  I do believe it takes exceptional people to illustrate that dedication. I’m grateful that Westminster recognizes that as a value and encourages its professors to follow that passion.

How did your Westminster education inspire your achievements?

The experience I had at Westminster College was something I would wish for every college student: I was challenged mentally, I was encouraged socially, and I was able to follow in the footsteps of greatness.  The history of exceptional people who have walked through the Columns is inspiring for each of us, and I loved the strong sense of belonging and pride associated with the students and alumni.

When an entire community believes in your ability to achieve, the first step on that road to success seems like a step in the right direction instead of a step into oblivion.

I have always recommended Westminster College to any individual who wants to have a sense of belonging and pride in their education. Westminster is truly a community; you will find opportunities to lead, to grow, to understand, and to achieve.  You will be among the most capable individuals who are changing our world every day!

What successes and achievements do you envision in your future?  What are your goals?

I believe that the story of chiropractic is just beginning to unfold.  People are living longer lives, and now more than ever before our society is focusing on maintaining function and quality of life, this is what chiropractic care is all about.  I believe our future is bright; I plan to be running a multiple-doctor clinic in the years to come and also starting a satellite office to extend our ability to care for others.  My goals are professional and personal. I am a work-in-progress and will always strive to have more consistency in my purpose and will also have this small other goal of being more relaxed in my free time and enjoy my amazing family!

What professional and community organizations are you currently involved in?

In addition to belonging to the Missouri State Chiropractic Association,  our office makes a specific point to participate in business-to-business education about the benefits of chiropractic care. We also consistently work to make a difference in our community by finding creative and exciting ways to help raising funds for a variety of philanthropic organizations.  For example, last year we donated a 6-night all inclusive stay at a Cancun resort to a fundraiser (so fun!).
