Students Reflect on Their Greek Experience
Greek life has existed at Westminster almost as long as the College itself. Joining a fraternity or sorority on campus provides many of Westminster’s students with social activities, service opportunities, and academic encouragement that help them find success at Westminster and beyond. Many of Westminster’s most loyal alumni are members of Greek organizations. Read on to hear from member’s of each of Westminster’s Greek organizations about how Greek Life has impacted them.

What Greek Life means to me:
Greek Life and Alpha Gam, to me, means family. Since being in Alpha Gam I have gotten some of my closest friends. I always have someone to go to for advice or to study with or to nap with. I have an overwhelming feeling of belonging when I’m with my sisters, and I wouldn’t change it for anything.

What Greek Life means to me:
Membership in Beta, to me, means living by the same values and aspirations in life with the closest of friends. It means feeling a strong sense of identity and pride wherever I go, paired with an experience of brotherhood that is unparalleled. Just being Greek, in general, has given me so many different types of fun and challenging experiences at Westminster. By far, joining the Greek Community here and joining Beta Theta Pi has been the best decision I have made in my college career and my life to date.

What Greek Life means to me:
Greek life is a great way to experience college. It’s a way to connect with like-minded people who want to better themselves over their college career. Without Greek life, I would not have grown as much as I have throughout my time at Westminster College.

What Greek Life means to me:
Greek life, and specifically KA in my case, is an opportunity to be surrounded by individuals who have the same interests as I do. They share many of the morals and values which I hold dear. I know I have a group of friends in my brothers that will be there as a support network, and also, be there once I move on from Westminster’s campus. Without KA, finding these guys, and becoming friends would have been much more difficult.

What Greek Life means to me:
Being a member of the Greek community and Kappa Alpha Theta has opened many doors for me in the realms of building confidence and working on skills that will prepare me for life beyond college and make me successful for my future career. Being in Kappa Alpha Theta has given me a group of women that I treasure, trust, and rely on for the ups and downs that come with life. They challenge me to be the best version of myself and after four years have left me with so many amazing memories. After being a part of this organization and the Greek community, I have truly learned what it means when people say that Greek Life is not just for four years. It is for life!

What Greek Life means to me:
Sisterhood means to me that I have a support system, not only within my chapter, but also within my Panhellenic community. Within Kappa, I have found my home away from home and a group of strong, loving women that I can trust no matter what. Kappa is a place that passes no judgment and accepts everyone for who they are. This is a place that has strengthened me and will continue to for years to come.

What Greek Life means to me:
Phi Delta Theta means the world to me. It has invaluably helped me to develop my leadership skills, perfect my strengths while acknowledging my weaknesses, form life-long friendships, and discover my passions. Greek Life can be a wonderful addition to a college education and Phi Delt has given me the experiences of a lifetime while starting me on the never-ending quest to become the greatest version of myself.

What Greek Life means to me:
Greek life provides an opportunity to grow and develop skills that can be applied in the real world as well as a place to have the time of your life. Being a part of ΣΑΕ, you will make lifelong friends and memories unlike any other. Going Greek isn’t for everyone, but for those who do, it is an experience you can’t find anywhere else.
