The Harlow Fellow Selection Committee recently announced that Carson Smith, ’22 ΚΑ, has been selected as the 2019-2020 Harlow Fellow. An Economics major from Wentzville, MO, Smith says he is grateful and excited to receive the fellowship because of his long-term interest in politics and public policy.
“I knew Washington D.C. was a place of interest for a future career ever since visiting the city in high school,” he explains.
Created by Josh, ’06 ΚΑ, and Jenna, ’06, Harlow, the Harlow Fellowship provides students with a summer internship to explore a public policy career.
The Harlows say they had similar experiences when they attended Westminster and studied in Washington, D.C.

Westminster students who are degree-seeking U.S. citizens and who will have completed 26 credits hours by the end of the Spring 2020 semester are eligible to apply for the 2020-2021 Harlow Fellowship. That internship will take place during Summer 2021. The application period will open in February 2020.
The First Harlow Fellowship Recipient
Last year’s recipient, John Burch, ‘20 ΔΤΔ, interned with WPA Intelligence. Burch says his experience was unforgettable and “gave [him] many great insights into life in the capital and wouldn’t have been possible without the generosity of Josh and Jenna Harlow.”
