Scott Swindler To Receive Young Alumni Achievement Award
Scott Swindler from Marina del Rey, CA, Class of 2007 and a member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity, will receive the Young Alumni Achievement Award given at a special Alumni Honors Convocation Ceremony to be held at 10:30 a.m., April 23, during Alumni Weekend in the Church of St. Mary the Virgin, Aldermanbury on the Westminster College campus in Fulton, MO.
Swindler is a Brand Manager at 72and Sunny, a full-service advertising company recognized as one of Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies of 2015 and a two-time “Agency of the Year Award” for Advertising Age and Adweek.
The Young Alumni Achievement Award is presented annually to recognize alumni who demonstrate the Westminster mission through outstanding achievement early in their chosen career and/or dedicated leadership and service to their community and who have graduated within 5-15 years. Established in 2009, the Young Alumni Achievement Award is approved by the Alumni Council and given to up to two alumni each year at Alumni Weekend. The Young Alumni Achievement Award requires a motion and vote from the Board of Trustees for approval.
“WestMO prepared me for life inside and outside of the office,” says Swindler. “The liberal arts background instilled a belief, confidence, humility and values similar to how I was raised. There’s an expectation to treat others with fairness and respect. The relationships I fostered at Westminster prepared me for the hyper-connected and diverse world we live in. Walking through The Columns with a degree in my hand brings with it a level of responsibility to lead and inspire future generations.”
Swindler’s success and rise through the marketing and advertising industries leaves little room for improvement if you are familiar with the likes of: Adidas, ESPN, College GameDay, MLB, The Masters, British Open and NASCAR. These organizations and brands are just some of the highlights of his career involvement.
From his Ironman World Triathlon Company internship to Marketing Manager for ESPN and now Brand Manager with 72andSunny, Swindler has left his imprint. His dedication impacts the lives, cultures, entertainment and communities of people throughout the world.
