Sarah Reddy to Receive Young Alumni Achievement Award

Sarah (Yates) Reddy from Tulsa, OK, Class of 2008, and a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority, will receive a Westminster College Young Alumni Achievement Award on Saturday, April 29, during the college’s Alumni Weekend.

Reddy is a partner in her own law firm of Reddy & Feldhake, P.C., a litigation firm in Tulsa that offers a wide range of legal services throughout the state. She focuses her practice on general civil and appellate litigation, estate planning and probate, family law, and business law and transaction.

“Westminster instilled in me the tools and desires to be a life-long learner,” says Reddy. “With that, I was able to succeed in my graduate studies and establish myself professionally.  The  College provided me with the skills I needed to set goals and achieve those goals.”

The Young Alumni Achievement Award is presented annually to alumni who demonstrate the Westminster mission through outstanding achievement early in their chosen career and/or dedicated leadership and service to their community and who have graduated within the past five to 15 years.

After clerking for The Jarboe Law Firm, formerly Jarboe & Stoermer, P.C., and Theodore P. Gibson, P.C. (of counsel) and passing the bar in 2011, Reddy took a position in Oklahoma City, OK, representing some of the nation’s largest insurance companies in all 77 Oklahoma counties. She then left Oklahoma City to develop a small firm business model she believed would serve individuals and businesses in her community, building the business on her experiences at both large and small firms and using her diversified training and expertise.

The small practice she began back in Tulsa from this model continues to grow, and Reddy continues her practice of advocating for clients in need of superior, responsible legal representation across the state of Oklahoma.

Reddy holds a law degree from the University of Tulsa College of Law with certificates in Resources, Energy and Environmental Law and Native American Law. She is a member of the Federal Bar Association, Oklahoma Bar Association, Tulsa County Bar Association and the Oklahoma Association of Defense Counsel. She is admitted to practice before all state and federal courts in Oklahoma as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States.

Reddy has published and presented papers in the areas of health law, specifically advanced healthcare directives and presents regularly on topics related to estate planning, probate and property law. She volunteers with Tulsa Lawyers for Children and participates in fundraising for Emergency Infant Services, Reading is Fundamental and Mission of Hope.

“My professional life is only possible because of the support and encouragement of family and friends,” Reddy says. “Westminster always encouraged family.  Likewise, my family could not have been happier with the education I received, or more grateful for the lasting connections I made while I was there. Westminster encouraged connecting with other students to create lasting friendships. I met my husband and some of our closest friends while attending Westminster, and they, along with my family, have been the support that allowed me to achieve all that I have.”

Reddy is married to Madhav Reddy, Class of 2007, and the couple has two children, Kishen and Meena.

Reddy will receive her award at a special Alumni Honors Convocation Ceremony to be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 29, in the Church of St. Mary the Virgin, Aldermanbury on the Westminster campus in Fulton, MO. The award is approved by the Alumni Council and requires a motion and vote from the Board of Trustees for approval. Only two alumni can receive the award annually.
