Juris Pupcenoks ’04 to Deliver Keynote Address at Undergraduate Scholars Forum

Juris Pupcenoks ’04, assistant professor of political science at Marist College in New York, will deliver this year’s keynote address at Westminster’s 10th annual Undergraduate Scholars Forum on April 20, 2017.

Pupcenoks, who specializes in international relations and comparative politics, earned his B.A. at Westminster in 2004, followed by an M.A. and Ph.D. at the University of Delaware. His work has been published in numerous journals, including International Interactions, Nationalism and Ethnic Politics, Middle East Journal and Journal of Muslim Minority Affairs. His monograph Western Muslims and Conflicts Abroad, which explores how Muslim immigrant communities respond to political upheaval and violence in their homelands, was published by Routledge in 2016.

The Undergraduate Scholars Forum is a yearly event highlighting undergraduate student achievement at Westminster. Featuring presentations by more than 150 students representing nearly every department on campus, the forum allows faculty, staff, alumni and trustees to recognize the scholarship taking place at Westminster and celebrate the students’ work.
