WHO: Co-Sponsored by America’s National Churchill Museum – Timothy Riley, Sandra L. and Monroe E. Trout Director and Chief Curator; and the Center for Faith and Service – Rev. Kiva Nice-Webb, Chaplain and Director of the Center for Faith and Service
WHAT: Pre-Recorded 37th Annual Lessons & Carols Service
Patterned after the annual service at the University of Cambridge, England, Westminster College’s Festival of Lessons & Carols includes nine readings from scripture related to the Christmas story along with corresponding carols performed by area musicians.
WHEN: Available for viewing at 7 p.m. CST on Dec. 29, 2020 ― the 80th anniversary of the Second Great Fire of London, the night when the historic Church of St. Mary the Virgin, Aldermanbury, was bombed during the Blitz in World War II.
WHERE: Via the Facebook pages of America’s National Churchill Museum and Westminster College as well as the Museum’s YouTube channel. The service will be pre-recorded from St. Mary the Virgin, Aldermanbury, on the Westminster College campus, and at other remote locations in throughout the United States and England.
WHY: Westminster is aware that beloved holiday traditions such as the College’s Annual Lessons & Carols Service are needed now more than ever.
