Leadership in Practice: New Board of Trustees Members

At Westminster, we never have to look far to see leadership in action. Our Board of Trustees are engaged and invested in the well-being of students and the college. Above, from left to right, our newest Board of Trustees’ members: Beth Stubbs, ’00; Sara Hart Weir, ’04; William Felder, ’80; and Warren Erdman, ’81. Read on for their brief profiles, as seen in the Summer 2013 issue of Leadership Magazine.

Warren Erdman, ’81, is Executive Vice President of Administration and Corporate Affairs for Kansas City Southern, a transportation holding company with railroad investments in the United States, Mexico and Panama. Prior to joining Kansas City Southern, he served as Chief of Staff to U.S. Senator Christopher “Kit” Bond of Missouri, leading the operations for the Senator’s Washington office and six local Missouri offices. He also served in the Missouri Governor’s office for former Missouri Governor John Ashcroft (1985) and former Missouri Governor Bond (1981-1984). He is a recipient of the Westminster College Lifetime Alumni Achievement Award.

William Felder, ’80, is Chairman of the Board of Directors of Southwest Securities, Inc., the principal broker/dealer subsidiary on the New York Stock Exchange for SWS Group, Inc. He was elected President of the SSW group in 2002 and served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Southwest Securities from 2004 until 2007. He is now retired but remains on several boards. He is a recipient of the Westminster College Lifetime Alumni Achievement Award.

Jane “Beth” Stubbs, ’00, is a partner in Kilgore’s Medical Pharmacy in central Missouri. After receiving her B.A. from Westminster, she earned a bachelor’s degree in pharmaceutical sciences at the University
of Mississippi and a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from the St. Louis College of Pharmacy. She has served as student preceptor and adjunct professor of pharmaceutical compounding for the University of Missouri-Kansas City for the past five years. She is the new Chair of The President’s Club at Westminster and past President of the Westminster Alumni Council. She also is a recipient of the Westminster Alumni Loyalty Award.

Sara Hart Weir, ’04, is Vice President of Advocacy & Affiliate Relations for the National Down Syndrome Society. Weir is the head of the organization’s Washington, D.C. office. Prior to joining NDSS, Weir was
Vice President at Faegre BD Consulting and a manager on GlaxoSmithKline’s (GSK) Federal Government Relations team in Washington, DC. Her education includes a bachelor of arts in psychology and political leadership from Westminster and a master’s of science in public policy and management from Carnegie Mellon University’s Heinz College. Weir also serves as the President of the Westminster College Alumni Council.
