New Staff Profile: Sarah Stevens, LMSW, MPH

Position:  Assistant Director of Counseling Services

Education: Holds a dual Master’s in Social Work and Public Health from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from William Woods University in Fulton. She is a Licensed Master Social Worker.

Goals at Westminster: My main goal is to create a welcoming environment at The Wellness Center and across campus. I know how much of a difference it can make when students feel welcome and at “home” while at school.

Favorite quote: “To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded,” by Ralph Waldo Emerson.

How you found your purpose: When I was a junior in college, I happened to take a social work course as an elective, and I immediately knew that the field would have so many opportunities for me to help others.

One book everyone should read: The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald.

What do you do in your free time? I enjoy playing indoor and sand volleyball, spending time with my Labrador retriever at the dog park, and going out to eat.

A talent you wish you had? To be able to sing in tune.
