TEACHING & CAREER

What is one piece of advice for students taking your class?

Don’t be afraid to ask questions; often times someone else has the same question you do.

What qualities make someone particularly successful in Science?

I feel that having passion about the subject along with patience and persistence are important.

What’s most important to learn in school?

I think a well-rounded education is important. Gaining critical thinking skills is fundamental for success.

What drew you to Westminster?

The dedication shown by Westminster to educate students and prepare them for successful roles in their careers and communities made Westminster an attractive location for me.

What is your initial impression of Westminster?

The campus atmosphere is very welcoming. Everyone seems very invested in the Westminster community, and I’m very excited to become a part of it.

What are your goals at Westminster?

My goals are to support critical thinking skills as well as to expand the scientific knowledge base of the next generation.

Do you have a favorite quote?

My favorite quote is: “Life is a journey, not a destination,” by Ralph Waldo Emerson

How did you find your purpose?

While working as a research specialist, I had the opportunity to mentor many students. Watching their excitement to learn new things was very rewarding for me. I love to learn and I’m very enthusiastic about teaching others about science.

What is the one book you think everyone should read?

Oh, The Places You’ll Go! By Dr. Seuss

Favorite book?

The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams is one of my favorite books.

Clue, based on the popular game!
