Men’s Soccer Falls Short To Simpson, 2-1

The Westminster men’s soccer team fell short to Simpson College on Tuesday evening, 2-1. The Blue Jays return from Iowa with a 2-6 record.

The Blue Jays scored a team goal off a throw-in in the 64th minute, but Simpson hit a shot from 35 yards out just a minute later to tie the game up at 1-1. Simpson scored again in the 69th minute, taking a 2-1 lead.

The Blue Jays took 8 shots on goal out of their 15 shots, but they were unable to find the net again.

Sophomore Raul Belman Romero (2-6) had three saves in the loss.

The Blue Jays return to their home field on Saturday, September 27 to open conference play. Kickoff against Blackburn is at 7:00 p.m.
