More than Graffiti: “Breakthrough”
Not only is “Breakthrough” a special part of our campus, but it is also special in its symbolism. The Berlin Wall’s destruction led to the reunification of Germany and gave the residents of Germany a step toward the freedom they now enjoy.
Without the efforts of Edwina Sandys, Winston Churchill’s granddaughter, this symbolic piece of art would have never made its way to Westminster. In honor of the 25th anniversary of the Berlin Wall’s destruction, Sandys visited Westminster on Sunday, November 9.
