State Science Olympiad Returns to Westminster College on April 8

On Saturday, April 8th, Westminster College will once again host the State Science Olympiad on campus. More than 2,000 students will compete throughout the day in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Westminster looks forward to welcoming these students to campus!

Winners at district and regional competitions will come together at Westminster to take part in active, hands-on team activities from a wide range of subjects such as forensics, bridge building, geological mapping, bungee drops and rocket building. The day will begin early, with events starting by 8 a.m., and will conclude with an awards ceremony in Champ Auditorium at 4:30 p.m.

Missouri Science Olympiad is a non-profit organization that operates under the National Science Olympiad, a national non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of K-12 science education, increasing male, female and minority interest in science, creating a technologically literate workforce and providing recognition for outstanding achievement by both students and teachers. These goals are achieved by participating in Science Olympiad tournaments and non-competitive events, incorporating Science Olympiad into classroom curriculum and attending teacher training institutes.
