Matthew Greaves, DDS, to Receive Prestigious Young Alumni Achievement Award

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Fulton, Mo. ‒ March 21, 2025: Westminster is pleased to announce that Matthew D. Greaves, DDS, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, Class of 2010, will receive the College’s prestigious Young Alumni Achievement Award on April 12 during Alumni Weekend.
A native of St. Louis, Greaves was named the 2023 Air National Guard’s Dentist of the Year and was recognized by the Delta Tau Delta fraternity as a “40 Under 40” recipient. He currently serves as the sole dental provider for the 131st Bomb Wing of the Missouri Air National Guard, where he oversees the readiness of more than 1,000 airmen who are tasked with both state and federal activations.
Greaves majored in biology at Westminster, where he was involved with a number of organizations, including the Skulls of Seven as well as Delta Tau Delta. He is a graduate of the University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Dentistry. Greaves completed his residency at the University of Minnesota Medical Center, where he earned a master’s degree while providing dental care to patients with special needs beyond the scope of routine outpatient services, including those fighting head and neck cancer.
After his residency, Greaves returned to St. Louis and gained multiple academic and hospital appointments. During that time, he oversaw the training of dental students and residents, secured grant funding to deliver free dental care to financially impoverished patients struggling with head and neck cancer and aided in establishing a program for the delivery of hospital-based, special-needs dentistry.
Greaves proudly served his country through a deployment to the Middle East and served his fellow Missourians by co-leading a medical mission that provided more than $1.8 million of no-cost care to the citizens of southeast Missouri.
Today, Greaves gives back to Westminster by remaining connected to Delta Tau Delta as a chapter advisor and as a prior member of the Blue Jay Road Crew and Alumni Council.
Greaves is happily married to his wife, Audrey, and enjoys being a father to his two young sons, Joshua and Caleb.
The Young Alumni Achievement Award recognizes alumni who demonstrate the Westminster mission through outstanding achievement early (within five to 15 years) in their chosen career and/or dedicated leadership and service to their community.
