Lutz Named To 2013-14 CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team

The 2013-14 Capital One Academic All-District Women’s Basketball Teams, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), have been released to recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined athletic and academic performances. Westminster’s senior Leigh Ann Lutz was named to the Division III All-District first team for the 5th district.

The Academic All-District teams are divided into eight districts that recognize the NCAA Division I, Division II and Division III. Across the nation, 138 student-athletes were named to the All-District first team. Lutz is one of 49 Division III student-athletes selected to the All-District first team, serving as 1 of 5 student-athletes in the 5th district (states included: AL, AR, FL, GA, MO, MS, NC, PR, SC, TN, VA).

Lutz has maintained a 4.0 cumulative GPA throughout her four years at Westminster. She is majoring in Exercise Science and Biology. After graduation, Lutz is planning to attend physician’s assistant school.

Lutz has also excelled on the basketball court, breaking multiple program records. She is currently writing the three-point career record after breaking it earlier this year. She scored her 1,000th point in the beginning of this season and rewrote the three-point season record last year. Lutz is 30 points shy of breaking the all-time scoring record.

The first-team Academic All-District ® honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
