Sports Information
Senior Leigh Ann Lutz broke Westminster’s all-time scoring record during the 81-71 win over Greenville College Wednesday evening. Lutz has proven to be a force to reckon with on the court for Westminster. She holds the 3-point career record (229-673), the 3-point season record (75-202) and is one of seven members of Westminster’s 1,000 Point Club. The all-time scoring record was previously held by Amy Schaeperkoetter. Schaeperkoetter, 1994-98, held the record with 1,282 career points.
“It is a huge honor to hold the all-time scoring record, but I owe all of the credit to some really great teammates throughout my four years here. Reaching 1,289 points take 500+ great passes,” said Lutz when asked about her feelings towards breaking the record tonight.
Lutz will continue rewriting the all-time scoring record and the three-point career record throughout the next five regular season games and the playoffs.
