Ludwig and Bromberg Named UMAC Football Players of the Week

Westminster’s Kevin Ludwig and Josh Bromberg were named to the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Football Players of the Week for the week of September 2-8. The Blue Jays played their season opener at Hendrix College and fell 44-46 in the final second Saturday, September 7th.
Ludwig, a sophomore from Manchester, Mo. (Priory HS), was selected as the football special teams player of the week. He hit a 28 yard field goal in the fourth quarter to put the Blue Jays up by one. Ludwig went 5-for-5 on extra points and completed three punts for a total of 110 yards. He also had eight kickoffs for 463 yards, averaging 57.9 yards per kickoff.
Bromberg, a senior from St. Louis, Mo. (CBC HS), was selected as the football defensive player of the week. He recorded two interceptions for a total of 43 yards. Bromberg returned the second interception for a 39 yard touchdown. He finished the game with six tackles.
The Blue Jays will open up UMAC play Saturday, September 14th, at 1:00 p.m. as they host Crown College.
