Evans has served a number of positions, including Senior Vice President Asia Pacific for Bredero Shaw Pte Ltd, a growth oriented, global energy services company specializing in technology-based products and services for the pipeline and petrochemical sectors, as well as other industrial markets.
In this position he was responsible for the managing company’s facilities and markets in the Asian Pacific region, providing overall direction and administration.
“At Westminster, I learned to think in big concepts and in unconventional ways,” says Evans. “Analytical and communication skills set me up for dealing with what has been thrown in my path.”
“Benjamin Franklin instructed: ‘Luck favors a prepared men.’ Westminster prepared me.”
Evans has been working for Bredero Shaw since 1978 in a wide range of capacities starting as a Project Manager in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska; New Orleans; New Mexico; Thailand; Australia and Malaysia.
In 1982 he moved into a series of General Manager positions in Saudi Arabia, Scotland and then Vice President of European operations with facilities in Norway, Scotland and Germany.
A stint as Senior Vice President Asia Pacific region (1991-1996) followed, when he also served as the Managing Director of a Joint Venture with the Chinese government in Zhanjiang, China.
This was followed by an assignment in Houston when he served as Vice President of United States and Latin American Operations until 2006.
Evans is now a Senior Strategist with Bredero Shaw, working from his home in Camdenton and Houston headquarters.
While at Westminster he was a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity, President of the Student Body in 1974, and Co-Editor of Areopagitica and The Columns.
The Lifetime Alumni Achievement Award is presented annually to alumni whose accomplishments reflect the Westminster mission and who have distinguished themselves through personal achievements, professional achievements and/or have made significant contributions to society.
Westminster’s Alumni Weekend is the largest on-campus event for alumni and one of the favorite Westminster College traditions. This year’s celebration April 24-26 will include past favorites such as the golf tournament, a Bill Parrish college history lecture and dueling pianos event as well as many new events such as the William W. Robertson Bust Dedication Ceremony, a Skulls of Seven Reunion and a celebration of the 35th anniversary of women at Westminster.
