Westminster Alums Make a Difference

The support of alumni is one of the things that make Westminster truly exceptional.  Dr. Lana (Cross) Zerrer ’95 and Dr. Jason Zerrer ’96 are perfect examples of alums who give back in many ways.

Lana’s journey began in Park Hills, Missouri where she was an outstanding high school student who was able to attend Westminster because of the scholarships she received. Lana feels the pre-med program at Westminster was excellent and prepared her very well for medical school and a medical career.

After graduating from Westminster, Lana completed medical school and served in the U.S. Air Force Medical Corps where she achieved the rank of major.  She is now Chief of Staff at the Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans’ Hospital.

Lana gives generously to Westminster each year and says, “I give because Westminster invested in me and I want to pay forward the wonderful opportunity and exceptional education I received at Westminster College.”

Jason is from Monroe City and originally hoped to attend the University of Missouri-Columbia.  Jason’s grandfather and uncle are both Westminster alums and encouraged him to attend Westminster.  Jason feels choosing Westminster was one of the best decisions he has ever made and that his Westminster experience has been instrumental in his success as a physician and as a person.

Jason is a graduate of the University of Missouri Medical School and is a partner in Providence Urgent Care in Columbia, Missouri.  He is committed to giving back to Westminster, “I give because Westminster was instrumental in my success professionally and personally.  I have great pride in the college and want to see Westminster continue as a truly outstanding institution.”
