Karen Tompson-Wolfe to Receive Prestigious Remley Reward

Fulton, Mo. ‒ March 21, 2025: Westminster is pleased to announce that Karen Tompson-Wolfe of Auxvasse, Missouri, will receive the College’s prestigious 2025 Remley Award on April 12 during Alumni Weekend. She is assistant dean of the First-Year Experience and Learning Opportunities and head of the Tomnitz Family Learning Opportunities Center at Westminster.

Tompson-Wolfe has been a dedicated member of the Westminster community since 1996, contributing as both a faculty member and an academic support leader.

Throughout her tenure at the College, Tompson-Wolfe has taught economics and statistics while developing comprehensive academic support programs, including the Learning Disabilities Program, Academic Enrichment Program and Peer Tutoring Program.

Since 2004, Tompson-Wolfe has worked as a Faculty Athletic Representative (FAR), advocating for student-athletes while working closely with coaches, faculty and families.

A recognized leader in developmental education, Tompson-Wolfe enhances Westminster’s academic support initiatives in numerous ways, which have been enhanced through an intensive seminar she attended in 2014 at the prestigious Kellogg Institute.

Tompson-Wolfe’s passion for education extends beyond traditional academics: She has created unique seminars that explore the influence of board games and the evolution of the modern Olympic Games.

After earning a B.A. in statistics from the University of Missouri-Columbia, Tompson-Wolfe received a master’s degree in statistics and completed 45 hours of post-graduate studies in economics at the University of Missouri. She earned a Developmental Education Specialist certificate in 2014 through the Kellogg Institute at Appalachian State University.

She holds a Developmental Education Specialist certificate from the Kellogg Institute at Appalachian State University and is a Certified Apple Teacher.

Tompson-Wolfe’s areas of expertise show tremendous variety. Her certifications also include ACEP Level I Certification, Coach Club Level, in table tennis.

The Remley Award celebrates women who have shown exceptional passion and support for the women of Westminster College, emulating the spirit of the award’s namesake, Dr. Audrey Remley.
