Junior Summer Boswell is Active in Eight Organizations Through Westminster’s Small Size and Flexible Structure
Where is your hometown?
I am from Wright City, Missouri.
What organizations are you involved in on and off campus?
I am involved in Kappa Kappa Gamma (Events Director), Order of Omega, Alpha Lambda Delta, Omicron Delta Kappa, and Student Ambassadors. Additionally, I am the Panhellenic Council President, Student Government Association Junior Class President, and Head Resident Advisor.
What is your current major?
I am majoring in Exercise Science and Sports Management with a minor in Coaching.
What sparked your interest in these subjects?
Being an athlete my whole life created an interest in the injuries that come along with sports as well as the logistics that go into sporting events and businesses.
What made you choose to attend Westminster College?
I loved how rich in history the campus is, as well as the faculty-to-student ratio. With how small the campus is, I knew my quality of education would be so much better, as it feels more personal.
How has Westminster impacted your education and life?
Westminster has taught me that failure is okay and has given me tools of confidence and resilience to overcome the failures. It has also provided me with a sense of community that I never felt before.
What advice would you give to incoming freshmen?
Don’t hesitate to be involved, try going through sorority or fraternity recruitment even if it “isn’t your thing,” join a sport, and lastly don’t be afraid to add a major or change it entirely. You don’t have to know what you’re doing for the rest of your life at 18!
