John R. Haug ’88 named St. Louis Managing Partner for Global Law Firm

Dentons recently announced that partner John R. Haug ’88 has been named the managing partner of its St. Louis office.

“In his 10 years at Dentons, John has consistently demonstrated his leadership, judgment and good humor, all of which will serve him well as he leads the St. Louis office, especially in this milestone year for the office and period of growth for the Firm,” said Mike McNamara, Dentons’ U.S. managing partner.

Dentons’ St. Louis office celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. Local clients include many of the region’s public and privately held companies, financial institutions, real estate owners and developers, hospitals, universities, and government and nonprofit entities. The office is home to more than 30 Dentons lawyers and professionals, with focus primarily on litigation, real estate, public policy, intellectual property and corporate service to clients. At a signing ceremony in January, Dentons announced its combination with 大成, the largest law firm in China. When the transition is complete the combined firm will have more than 6600 lawyers globally and will be the largest law firm in the world.

Haug is the co-leader of the Firm’s national construction group and the leader of the Firm’s global Transportation practice team. His diverse practice includes counseling clients on real estate development, construction, architectural, engineering and commercial leasing issues. He represents clients on a variety of development projects across the United States and abroad including malls and shopping facilities, industrial, chemical production and manufacturing facilities, gaming complexes, multi-unit residential housing developments, hospitals, luxury hotels and spas, petroleum refineries, and government remediation projects. Haug also represents pipelines and energy transportation companies in connection with significant petroleum pipeline and storage systems, related rail yard and cargo transportation systems and advises numerous solar energy providers.

A member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity, Haug graduated from Westminster in 1988 with majors in English and Sociology. He was also a member of the Skulls of Seven and Alpha Chi.
