Greek Challenge Extended to April 30 and Modified to Give Percentage to Chapters

The fourth annual Greek Challenge will end a month later this year as a result of challenges related to COVID-19, including the postponement of Alumni Weekend to Oct. 2-4. Greek Challenge 2020 will end on April 30 this year.

Emily McKinzie, Director of Alumni Engagement, adds that in addition to the extension, Westminster administrators recently decided that more money should be given to active Greek chapters. McKinzie says that proceeds from Greek Challenge typically go to the Westminster Fund but that a decision was made in March to place 2 percent of all donations into a discretionary fund for the benefit of each active Greek chapter.

“I am extremely proud of our Greek leaders,” McKinzie explains. “They spoke on behalf of their chapters and asked that a percentage of funds raised be donated to their respective chapters so that they could meet chapter needs.”

The friendly head-to-head Greek Challenge competition that began Dec. 1, 2019, recognizes four winners: the sorority and fraternity that raises the most money as well as the sorority and fraternity with the highest alumni participation rate.
