Get a High Five on Giving Tuesday
Director of Alumni Engagement Sarah Munns joins Westminster Students in JCI on Giving Tuesday 2016
Are you ready to get a high five on Giving Tuesday for contributing to the Westminster Fund?
Next Tuesday, November 28, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.in JCI, students, faculty, and staff will be able to participate in the “High Five Giving Tuesday” campaign by making contributions to the Westminster Fund. Students are encouraged to give $5 and get a high five. The campaign goal is $1500.
New Westminster President Fletch Lamkin will be visiting morning classes on Tuesday accompanied by Student Ambassador President Alec Bise ’18 and Vice President of Institutional Advancement Kelly Dopman to share the value of why it is important to give.
The Westminster Fund provides the vital support necessary for all areas of campus life: outstanding faculty, innovative academic programs, athletics and other student activities, career development support, and scholarships for students.
Members of the Alumni Council have agreed to match student contributions dollar for dollar.
Alec Bise explains in a very personal way why you should give to the Westminster Fund next Tuesday better than any article could express. He says: “I will be donating to the Westminster Fund because this college has shaped who I have become. I came to this college as a mediocre student who didn’t know what he was going to do with his life. Now three and a half years later, I am going to nursing school, I am president of Student Ambassadors, I am in a fraternity with forty of my best friends, I am in amazing clubs and have met amazing people. I have created relationships that have helped me professionally and have had conversations with powerful and inspirational people. I have figured out what my passions are and also my goals for life. None of these things would have happened without this school and without the time, talent, and treasures that have been donated by our alumni. How could I not give back to that?”
